WHAT I DID

Led UXUI design

Led 3 hour long exploration workshop with stakeholders , set up information architecture, conducted research, curated refreshed branding and website design.

Culture shocks

The department's offerings, marketing strategy and frequency of content update had changed greatly with time, but their website had not.

Inconsistency
in appearance and tone
Structure
lacked visual cohesion
Misaligned
marketing goals
Competing

SITEMAP

Out with the old

With competing sub-departments, redundant content and repetition created clutter. Finding information was not easy across multiple sub-domains.

Restructuring

Information architecture

Compiling information architecture with stakeholder feedback led to a cleaner sitemap. Interlinked content and a hierarchical department structure was easier to traverse.

research

Exploration

Conducted and compiled extensive research on user personas, competitor analysis and visual moodboards.

BRANDING & PHOTOGRAPHY

Vibrant branding

Brand exercises with the primary stakeholders helped consolidate keywords, visual direction and new photography guidelines.

Low fidelity wireframes

CONCLUSION

A cultural fit

In this project a lean UX process was vital, to better align conflicting stakeholders on visual direction.

The end product was a refreshed brand, decluttered website, and an easy to manage Wordpress CMS!

I'm grateful to Professor Pun and her team for their curiousity and enthusiasm throughout!
